Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day Returns Globally on April 8, 2025
Ben & Jerry’s will once again host its celebrated Free Cone Day on April 8, 2025, handing out free scoops of ice cream at participating Scoop Shops worldwide. The giveaway runs from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., honoring a long-standing tradition of customer appreciation.
The first Free Cone Day was held in 1979 in Burlington, Vermont, inside a converted gas station. Since then, the event has expanded from local roots to an international occasion, with major milestones including its first global celebration in 2000 and the distribution of over 1 million scoops in 2015.
Participation is open to all, with no purchase required. The event has evolved into a celebration of community, loyalty, and the joy of ice cream. Scoop Shops across multiple countries are expected to participate again this year.
