Mirror Lake Cleanup

Mirror Lake Cleanup

Mirror Lake, an integral part of St. Petersburg’s history and identity, is set to receive a monthly makeover through the joint efforts of Reflection St. Pete, Stewards of Our Urban Lakes, and Keep Pinellas Beautiful. Once known as Reservoir Lake, Mirror Lake holds the distinction of being the city’s original water source and remains a cherished centerpiece of the local community.

Residents are invited to participate in this ongoing initiative aimed at maintaining the lake’s splendor and promoting community engagement. Beyond the rewarding experience of contributing to the city’s beauty, volunteers will have the opportunity to connect with fellow residents who share a passion for St. Pete’s heritage, environment, and wildlife.

Volunteers will engage in a variety of tasks throughout the year, including clearing invasive vegetation along the shoreline, tidying up litter surrounding the lake, and introducing native plants to enhance the area’s natural charm. These efforts align with a shared commitment to preserving Mirror Lake’s allure and ecological balance.

The cleanup gatherings will commence at the main park entrance, situated at the intersection of 3rd Ave North and Mirror Lake Drive North. Beginning at 9:00 AM, volunteers are advised to dress appropriately with closed-toe shoes, sun protection, and attire that can withstand potential damp or dirty conditions. Essential cleanup materials such as gloves, trash bags, and safety vests will be furnished on-site. As sustainability is a priority, participants are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles to utilize the available water refill station. While restroom facilities are not available on-site, parking options, including the shuffleboard court, provide convenience, and carpooling is encouraged to ease parking challenges. Join the Mirror Lake cleanup movement to play a part in enhancing St. Pete’s natural splendor.
