The Backyard is gearing up for a fantastic summer event with the Piedmont Summer Movie Series on Saturday, July 22. This BackYARD Fest edition promises a fun-filled evening with entertainment, activities, food trucks, and, of course, a movie under the stars.

Starting at 6:30 PM, attendees can enjoy live music by DJ One Nate and emcee Arkeedah McCormick. The Truist Vendor Village will feature local black and HBCU alumni-owned businesses, providing a great opportunity to support the community. Guests can participate in giveaways and raffles, including limited edition shirts and prizes from The Home Depot, Sweet Water Brewery, and Georgia Public Broadcasting.

The event will also offer a basketball sport court, a roller skating rink, and various photo ops. Attendees can look forward to special appearances by the Atlanta Falcons Drumline, Freddie Falcon, and the Atlanta Falcons Street Team. The highlight of the evening will be the screening of “Drumline,” a captivating comedy that follows the journey of a talented street drummer from Harlem as he enrolls in a Southern university’s marching band.
