The Passport Vibes: Afrobeat Street Festival, presented by Afrolux, is set to take place on Saturday, July 8th, 2023, at The Promontory in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. The festival aims to create an immersive experience celebrating Afrobeat music and culture.

Passport Vibes started in 2018 as a party concept, bringing together diverse crowds with three popular DJs from different genres. This street festival edition aims to showcase Afrobeat music, a genre that originated in West Africa and was popularized by Fela Kuti. Afrobeat combines traditional Nigerian music with elements of Highlife, Jazz, Funk, and contemporary influences.

The event will feature performances by top local and international DJs, along with food and retail vendors. Attendees can also enjoy outdoor activities such as laser tag and virtual reality experiences provided by MKETAG.
